Welcome to Prayer of the Refugee! We are an intermediate-advanced stray dog role play. Taking place in Ordinell City, the dogs have run of the town. It is a free for all roleplay and we don't have a major site wide plot to stick with, though we may try yearly things at some point. Members make their own plots and ideas and get to develop their characters. We aspire to be one of the largest and friendliest dog role playing communities created, and we need you all to help us achieve that! I hope you'll take a look around our site. Have fun role playing!
New Announcements!
We have a couple of new announcements up for all of you members! We have an announcement about choosing new spotlight positions and a poll going on in the announcements board and we'd love if you'd all participate. :3 We are also holding our first Advertising Contest! You guys can find all the information you need in the general board. For every advertisement you make we will give out prizes. If you all have any questions send them to either me, Trua, or Jay and we'll get them answered. Happy roleplaying PR!

Adlai
The tom-boy girl of Ordinell has caught the spotlight! Adlai is a headstrong girl with a fiery personality. She seems to reject the idea of being girly most of the time. Though new to the city, this stray has been noted to be very persistant and will do anything to get what she desires. Though a bit snarky at times she is a welcome character of PR.
Kasennenhawi
Kasennenhawi, or Kase for short has been a great addition to the PR family. She is an active member of the site and is a pleasure to roleplay with. Currently her only character is the charming Ruse. We admire your loyalty, activity, and overall friendliness Kase! Thanks for being such a great member of PR.
Here is where all the important announcements will be made. Things such as plot changes, rule changes, staff promotions or demotions, and other important announcements regarding the site will be posted. Polls will be held here too.
You think you don't need to read the rules because the rules are the same everywhere, right? Wrong. Our rules are different and if you would like to role play on this site with no problems then I suggest you read them. It's not too much to read, just go read them please.
This is a general board. Come here to make new friends and play games. All the rules do apply here. Break them and there will be consequences. This is just here for you guys to talk OOC and have fun. Enjoy!
This would be our site shop. It's a reward for you guys posting together and keeping this place active. The shop has a variety of rewards that you pay 'scars' to get. More information inside about the items and how much they cost.
If you have any comments, concerns, or need help then post here. The staff will help you with whatever the problem may be. We consider all suggestions but don't whine if we reject any that pertain to the site.
When you go into this board you read the form and post your character's personality, history, etc. A password is not required so I'm trusting you to have read the rules on your own. Follow the form please and don't wait to be accepted but if you did not follow the form than a staff will make you modify it.
Have you lost muse for a character? Have extra pups from a litter? Don't want your character anymore? Instead of flat out killing them how about letting other role players take them in. Sample post may or may not be needed depending on the role players decision.
If you want to keep track of your characters this is a good place to help. Go ahead and make a log for all your characters to keep people updated on what is happening in their lives. Don't post in other peoples logs please!
The hangar is a large building with a semi circle entrance and build. Two normal rectangular buildings are connected directly to the hangar on either side and hold control panels and beds. The large entrance has no door and is standing wide open. The hangar has a concrete floor and is empty really. The planes are long gone except for one broken down one around the back of the hangar. But it was left out in the weather and is deteriorating. The entire area is surrounded by a chain link fence that is broken in many places. The gate to the place hangs broken on its hinges. Some trees scatter the area at random, though they aren't big trees and don't provide much shade. The hangar is good shelter to the dogs now. Its large and open spaces are good for holding groups of strays.
Talgarth is a huge facility. It was once a place where people locked up all the insanes and crazies. The big building shockingly has many windows. They let the people look outside. While it caused many problems while the place was still open, the curators insisted that the people liked being able to see outdoors. The large mental hospital is not a picture of happiness but that doesn't stop the strays from coming in the empty place. It has padded rooms, beds, and a multitude of interesting items left behind. A large latter goes around the outside up to a high up door on the asylum. Why it is there is unknown, though it is believed the asylum wasn't always and asylum. The big building is boarded up now, and isn't in the best shape. Shelter is shelter though. The strays visit the creepy place for the shelter, and sometimes just adventure through the many halls in the three floor high building.
Old St. Anthony's is shut down from the accident. After some of the doctors killed people on the table the government declared that the other hospital was safer and decided to close down this one. St. Anthony's was scheduled to be demolished or turned into something else, but the workers never got around to it. The marbled walls now have several acts or vandalism or graffiti on them. The doors have mostly been taken off for unknown reasons but most of the things were left in the hospital. Beds are in the room and shockingly some medications were left behind. Broken windows are common and some of them are boarded up to try and keep people out of the building. The hospital has five floors, with many rooms including work rooms and patient rooms. The lobby is down stairs. The place is eerily silent for the most part but that doesn't deter the strays from wandering in for a nice shelter.
Every city has one. The warehouse stands in the slums of Ordinell City. It was abandoned when part of the place caught fire. It didn't damage the building too bad, just spooked the people into closing it down. The warehouse has two floors. A long length of stairs lead up to the second floor, but you can see down to the first floor through the guard rails. A few conveyor belts are down on the bottom floor. They are worn and don't move anymore, for the electricity has been shut down in the large building. Not much else is down stairs, for it is pretty vacant. Upstairs, there is a multitude of controls and several rooms down a long hallway. The rooms contain various items, but mostly blankets and some pillows that were used by people with no home that resided here for a short time. The warehouse is considered dangerous because of the machinery so people don't bother to come in there anymore.
The junkyard is pretty self explanatory. Trash, cars, mattresses, and various items are scattered galore. The tall spires of junk extend their reach far and wide. The junkyard is relatively large, stretching a vast ways taking up a large square of space. The junkyard is surrounded by a chain-link fence. The gate is swinging loosely off its hinges. There is dirt and very sparse grass beneath the trash, though grass is rare. It's a fairly popular place among strays.
So you've been caught by Animal Control? This is where all the dogs caught by the dog catchers are sent. They are dimly lit, and small cages, all lined up across a large concrete wall. The place has little funds and most of the animals get little care or food. The city doesn't much care what happens to the dogs there, they just want them off of the streets. Eventually you can get free, or maybe, if you're lucky, someone might just help you out sometime...
The church is old and unused anymore. St. Peter's was once a magnificent place to come and worship but they had to close down due to how old the structure was becoming. The people decided not to tear down the church, so it's grandeur would be remembered. The church is relatively large. At it's peak stands a large steeple with a cross mounted to the tip. There are a variety of windows, normal and stained glass. The church is locked to keep people from roaming in and out, and a few of the windows are broken. A few pews are inside, along with some various other items. The rafters are old and a few have fallen from the rot. Why they don't knock down the place is a wonder to everyone. Nobody pays it much mind anymore as it rots away, making it a safe place for the dogs to now roam through.
The pier is close to being outside the actual city. It is branched off from the land, a is build a ways out into the ocean. The pier is held on large supports and is made of wood planks. It is lined with metal railing to keep people from falling in, and streetlights to keep the place lit up at night. A small cabana stands near the end of it, providing shade to keep cool in. There is a lovely view of the ocean from the end of the pier and sunsets are a spectacle to watch. A breeze from the ocean is typically rolling over the place and it is a nice calming area to be in. By day many kids and couple seem to wander along the giant pier, looking for time alone or swimming time. But it has slow days where no body ventures out onto it at all. It is a good twenty foot drop into the ocean from the top of the structure, making it slightly hazardous to humans and animals alike.
Murray Beach is a huge open area. Humans still come by here some days to play in the sun and surf, but there are days where it is empty. The beach doesn't have the mythical white sands some beaches has, it has the more common beige ones. The water is a deep blue that gets lighter the more shallow it gets. The ocean always smells salty of course and the water is definitely not able to be consumed. A few palm trees and rocks line the shore. A small forest type area is back behind the beach, and there is a path that leads back to the city. It is a relaxing, chilled out place most of the time.
The dam isn't huge, but it is big enough. This large concrete wall stretches up the mass of land to block off the the lake. When rains hit or mild flood starts, the water reaches over the concrete wall and pours over it to let the water level itself back out. When the water is low it is possible to take a stroll across the concrete dam, though it isn't the brightest idea when it is stormy outside. The dam is at leadt seventy feet tall and usually does a good job of keeping the water back. It is a nice place to come and view the lake as long as you remain cautious and avoid it during the rainy season.
The highway is a long expanse of road. Cars travel at about seventy miles per hour down this stretch of road that leads to other cities. The road is six lanes across, three headed in each direction. The highway is lined with signs, telling which exit leads where and what is up ahead. It also has guard rails on both sides, to keep the cars from going off the road, but things can get on and off the road despite these. A large forest area is growing on each side of the highway and you can see Ordinell in the distance. Ditches are on either side of the high way in places. Roadkill and such is usually found in these. This place is not recommended for strays for it is highly dangerous with the cars whizzing by.
